About Us

  • Jharkhand Council of Educational Research and Training (JCERT), Ranchi was established by Human Resource Development Department, Government of Jharkhand in 2007. JCERT is registered under Societies Act 1860 and under section 29(1) of the RTE Act, the State Government has notified it as the academic authority to lay down the curriculum and evaluation procedure which is followed by all schools in the elementary level.
  • It is presently functioning as the apex body of academic support responsible for providing highest standards of student and teacher education from pre-primary to senior secondary stages across the State.
  • JCERT is also responsible for ensuring that quality of pre-primary, primary, elementary, secondary, higher-secondary and teacher education is provided in an equitable and inclusive manner in the state.
  • Other major functions of the JCERT includes development of curriculum, syllabus, instructional material, textbooks, supplementary materials to address to the need of all children including Children with Special Needs and teachers as well as undertaking research programme, and provide guidance, support and assistance to the state department of education.

Curriculum, syllabus, textbooks, supplementary resource material, assessment material, e-content, training- modules and teachers’ manuals to supportand improve active classroom processes and Learning Outcomes.

School-teachers, teacher-educators and key stakeholders on content-knowledge, resource development and pedagogical perspectives, for continuous professional development through need based programmes (workshop, seminar, training).

To organize, conduct and monitor

Workshops, seminars, trainings, exposure visits, studies, surveys and researches to discuss, strategize and suggest for improving and implementing projects and programmes related to “School-Education” and “Teacher- Education.

Teaching-learning resource material for Schools and Teacher Education.
